Devon Conway was born on July 8, 1991, in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. This left-handed batsman from New Zealand, known as Devon Philip Conway, had an interesting career. He started playing cricket for South Africa on a domestic tour. He moved to New Zealand in 2017 and eventually started competing for the national cricket team. Conway is a starting batter who approaches the plate aggressively. During the TATA IPL 2022 Super Auction, Chennai Super Kings bought Devon Conway for Rs 1 Crore. Conway got his first chance to play in the Indian Premier League in IPL 2022.

Devon Conway Early Life and Education
Cricket was Devon Conway’s first sport, which he took up at the young age of 12. He began playing cricket while a student at St. Johns College in Transvaal. He participated in numerous games for his college squad, contributing to their victories. In 2009, he graduated from college and was hired by the Gauteng Cricket squad. He spent a lot of time playing for Gauteng and excelled for his national squad.
Devon Conway’s cricket Career
In South Africa started Devon Conway cricket domestic career. He was selected in the squad for the 2015 Africa T20 Cup playing for his home side, Gauteng. During the tournament, he scored 53 runs in 3 games.
Devon Conway was selected in the New Zealand A squad against the West Indies and was subsequently selected in the New Zealand roster for the T20I series against the West Indies in August 2020 after being cleared by the ICC to play for New Zealand. On November 27, 2020, Devon Conway played his first international T20I match against West Indies.
He was subsequently included in the Test squad as well but was unable to feature in the playing XI.
In March 2021, Devon Conway played against Bangladesh in his first ODI. Conway scored his third career century, helping his team to victory.
On 2 June 2021, Devon Conway played his first Test match against England. He became the 12th player to score a century in his first innings and the second player to do so at Lord’s. Conway’s double century during the game is the highest score by an English batsman on debut.
Devon Conway was selected in the New Zealand squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup but was unable to play in the championship match due to injury.
During the Indian Premier League bid in 2021, Devon Conway was not bought. His starting salary in 2021 was around 50 lakhs.
